Fluconazole, a synthetic antifungal agent of the imidazole class, is used to treat vaginal candidiasis. It inhibits the fungal lanosterol 14 alpha-demethylase, preventing formation of ergosterol, an essential component in the fungal cell membrane.
Ketoconazole is an antifungal medication used to treat fungal infections of the skin such as tinea, cutaneous candidiasis, pityriasis versicolor, dandruff, and seborrheic dermatitis.
Terbinafine is used to treat infections caused by a fungus. It works by killing the fungus or preventing its growth. Applied to the skin, it treats ringworm of the body (tinea corporis).
Voriconazole is used in adults and children 2 years and older to treat serious fungal infections such as invasive aspergillosis and esophageal candidiasis.
